Our Story
How it all started…
Our story is a little older than you’d think, dating back to 1993.
Being a family of all girls, our best friends pretty much grew up in our home as much as we grew up in theirs. They were magical days in the company of some amazing people. Among them was a beautiful girl named Diana, and her sweet mom Anny. Back then one would spend time learning an instrument, playing sports, learning how to cook or bake, or doing art. I took to cooking and baking at a very young age, helping mom in the kitchen every chance I got.
Around 1993, Anny sent home some homemade cookies, and I absolutely loved them. I had never baked cookies, so I called her to ask if she would teach me and she gave me a list of ingredients. Mom and I went to get them that afternoon and the next day my mom handed me my very fist hand-held blender. We got on the phone again to get all the details on how to make her recipe and we were pretty pleased with the results.
I took on baking regularly and wanted to create a recipe with reduced sugar that would be more malleable, so I went to work creating my own version of some simple butter cookies. For a few weeks, I worked on different measurements of the core ingredients and eventually was able to create a dough that was nothing short of heavenly in every way. The surprising part of it all was how much LOVE I felt for it. I knew that something special had been born. As I went off to college, I started gifting my cookies during the holidays and this led to people inquiring about purchasing them for their own holiday engagements, which sparked the idea of making it a business one day. After a few years and two beautiful children, I decided to start a Gourmet Gifts company selling my cookies. Although my business was well received, the conditions of my life and my health did not allow me to continue growing it and I decided to “close shop” until I was ready to give my business the attention and effort it deserved.
My dear Anny passed away after a long battle with Cancer a few years back, and there isn’t a day I don’t bake my own recipe and not remember her sweet voice on the phone teaching me to make her cookies back in high school.
2023 is the year all the pieces came together to make this dream a reality and I am humbled and excited to take you along with us in this endeavor as we create and grow together in our community.
